Holy moly has it been a whirlwind of a month. Does anyone else feel like after the 4th of July the rest of the summer flies by? Grab some coffee and lets chat!
About a month ago I started my internship at an agency called Psychological Restorative Solutions. I work in the TASTE program. The program was designed to help men and women who have been arrested. The program teaches them skills and gives them a chance to redeem themselves and not end up in jail. I have been loving the whole experience. The interns and employees there are really great and I get along with all of them. I have also gained one client for individual counseling and hopefully will get some more soon. This experience is much different than just sitting in a classroom. It makes it feel real. I'm a counselor and that is awesome. It is also really nice not having to go to class and to do homework and papers.
I have been reading the book Grow Your Handmade Business by Kari Chapin. I am working on trying to become more organized and to write a business plan. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a small business owner.
I have been trying to spend as much time as I can outside. Every time I have work that I can do outside that is what I'm doing. Summer will be gone before I know it and I don't want to say "I wish I went to the beach more" like I usually do at the end.
I have been going through some personal stuff the last few weeks. Maybe someday I will share what it is, but as of now just know that I have not 100% been myself because of this. I am trying to practice what I preach and keep my head up. I know it'll get better.
I would love to hear what you guys want to see on the blog. Please comment below with your ideas or suggestions!
Have a wonderful day
