I just wanted to check in and let you know that I FINALLY decided when the store will be reopening!
The date is May 22nd (Friday before Memorial day) for the general public.
IF you are signed up for the newsletter you have access to the store on Thursday the 21st. A full day before! I will be emailing out a passcode that will let you see the products and purchase them. Without that you will not be able to get on until the 22nd. If you are not signed up for the newsletter and would like to be, click the "let's talk" tab above. This is going to be one of the many perks of being on my newsletter list.
I know I had previously said I would be opening up in March, but I wasn't able to make that happen. I appreciate everyone's patience. I figured I could share a little bit of what I have planned for BizzyBCrafts for the future.
I have been working really hard to make BizzyBCrafts better. Like I said, I truly appreciate everyone's patience and support. Please comment below! And mark your calendars!
This hair mask is fantastic and will leave your hair super soft and shiny. Stop buying masks with mystery ingredients and make your own!
1 Avocado (make sure it is really soft, almost too soft to eat)
1 Tablespoon Raw Honey
3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
Hope your enjoy! Leave a comment below if you gave it a try, I would love to hear what you think. I have been doing this once a week for a two weeks now and it really makes a difference in how your hair feels.
Have you ever thought to yourself "yoga looks so cool, I should try it", but then shut it down because you didn't know where to begin? If yes, this post is for you!
I gave a little bit of my yoga background in this post, but I didn't really give any advice on how to get started. Starting something new is exciting, but it also can be so intimidating that it seems easier to just put it off and not start it at all. Especially if you don't have a clue what your first step should be. I am going to break it down for you and hopefully make it easier for you to get started!
And thats it! Before you go though I just have a couple of things to mention. A lot of people think yoga is all about standing on your head and other crazy poses. For some people, sure maybe that is all they care about. But that is not what its about. Yoga is the journey that gets you to those poses. You learn so much about yourself while on the journey, which is so incredible. Try not to get frustrated if you can't do a pose or if your pose doesn't look like someone else's. Remember comparison is the thief of joy. Focus on yourself and how your body feels. Which leads me to the next thing- make the practice your own and do what feels right. You won't always be following the teacher exactly, you won't always want to do a certain pose and thats ok. Its your practice, the teacher is there to guide you.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask in the comments below. I hope this was helpful!
Embrace the Unknown
How boring it would be if we knew everything that was going to happen. Yet we are always trying to peek around the corner and see ahead.
If we knew everything that was going to happen, we wouldn’t need to experience it. There would be nothing to learn, explore, or gain. We’d stay in our heads instead of our hearts. So often, it’s the surprises of the moments and hours, the unexpected twists and turns that give meaning to our journey to make our lessons come alive.
You are connected to truth. You are connected to divine guidance. You can trust and embrace your guidance from god. That means you will get all the visions, all the guidance, all the advance knowledge and wisdom you need. Not too much to spoil the surprise. Not too much to neutralize the unknown.
Just enough guidance to let you know you are not alone.
- Melody Beattie
This past week in yoga my teacher focused on embracing the unknown. She read the above excerpt from the book Journey to the Unknown. Something about this really stuck with me. I have a bit of difficulty with this myself. I just wanted to share this with everyone with the hopes that maybe it could help someone else. This is definitely something I am going to be working on in 2015. Enjoy your weekend!
A little over a year ago I thought of doing this and never got around to it. A year goes by and its ALL OVER PINTEREST. No forgetting about it this time.
The idea behind the grateful jar is to remember all the things you have and all the things that have happened to you over the last year. The year flies by, I can tell you this because I feel like I JUST decided to make one of these and that was last year. It easy everyday to think about negative things and feel ungrateful. This is something that I think will help you to see the positive in your life, no matter what.
How to make it:
Take a jar, any jar you have or one you can purchase at Michaels. Decorate it however you like. You can paint it, put a quote on it, glue feathers all over it, whatever makes you happy. I decided to take the simple route and use a jar I already had a dollies I had and just glue them on. Then display somewhere you'll see it everyday.
What to put inside:
Write down something that you are thankful for each day and put it in there. Then at the end of the year you read through everything. What you write on the pieces of paper can vary from something that made you smile that day, something you felt lucky to have, something you accomplished, something you did that was out of your comfort zone, etc. The overall theme is, something that you may have forgotten at the end of the year had you not written it down. You can write one everyday, or you can write them as they come to you. I decided to put the dates on mine so that I remember when it was that I wrote it. A couple examples of mine thus far are, "the ability to stand on my head" and "my cousins". I've done one everyday so far and they are relevant to the days activities.
I am excited to fill it with lots of positive stuff!
Tag me in your photos of your jars on Instagram! I'd love to see! Happy Monday!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful day!
I am excited to share this super easy DIY with you! Its not too late to whip some up for those people you are seeing post holidays. They would also make adorable birthday gifts as well.
What you need:
Short size Starbucks cups
2oz. soap (enough to make three soaps)
Essential Oil of your choice
I bought 5 oz. soap from Michaels because I wanted some extra and I wanted the honey Shea butter and they didn't have it in a smaller size. It was $24 and I had a 50% precent off coupon so it wasn't too bad. I got the honey shea butter mostly because it sounded cool, but you can use goats milk or whatever type you can get your hands on. I used lavender essential oils because its my favorite but you can pick whichever one you like or have around.
Remove the soap from packaging and cut the soap up into squares.
Put the squares of soap in a microwaveable dish or a measuring cup. I packed them in and filled the 2 cup measuring cup up to the top.
Microwave the soap until there are no more chunks. I'd suggest doing it in increments and stopping to stir. The soap gets hot so be careful!
If you want to use essential oils put about 30 drops in at this point.
Pour soap into each cup and then put into the freezer to cool for 2 hours.
When the soap is hardened add some cinnamon to the top to make it look like a latte! Don't forget to add a funny name to the side of the cup!
When you want to get the soap out to use, just squeeze the cup a bit and the soap will loosen. You can pop it out in the shower and put it back in or just use it as an adorable bathroom decoration.
Two things I want to leave you with. One, I made an amazing cookie recipe today for the family and I just have to share. You will want to make these, I promise. Two, you may have seen me post about my awesome Erin Condren planner on Instagram this evening. Well lucky for you I have a special link to get you $10 off a planner of your own! I will be posting soon with some tips and tricks on organizing your planner, but until then, snag your own!
Have a great night!
I am so happy to announce that BizzyBCrafts is doing a BizzyB 12 Days of Christmas! What does this mean exactly? This means starting today, for the next 11 days, I will be having a special deal for the holidays. Each day the sale will be announced on my website, on Facebook and on Instagram.
There's a couple important things that need to be noted:
On the day after the last day of the 12 days, December 24th, the shop will be closed temporarily. I will be "hibernating" for the winter. I am going to be focusing on researching, reading and planning to make the shop better. I am not going anywhere you guys! I just want to take the time to really focus on what needs to be done to improve in every way. I will still be posting on social media, so make sure you keep in touch with me there. As well as email me if you'd like. So if you see something in the shop you have your eye on, now is the time to get it because when I reopen, it might not be here. Feel free to comment below with items you'd like to see stick around and maybe new items you'd like to see from BizzyBCrafts. I really appreciate the feedback. The shop will reopen in early March, an exact date will be determined soon!
Make sure to keep checking back everyday to see what the deal of the day is!
If you have any questions at all feel free to email me using the "let's talk" tab above.
I thank you all so much for your support, it really means the world to me. Have a fantastic Holiday Season and winter!
This is a video we show our participants in our group at internship. It is a video that I love for so many reasons and I thought I would share it with you. Feel free to pass it along. Have a lovely day!
Let's talk about goals! They're great right? You make them all excited about the future and getting what you want, but a lot of the time it doesn't happen. If you don't know why, you're not alone. One main thing you need to do to ensure that your goals will be completed is being honest with yourself. This includes honesty about your abilities, honesty about the means to obtain your goal, and your time frame. A good little trick when making goals is to use the SMART technique. This is an acronym that stands for
Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. (PLEASE NOTE: there are other words people substitute for the acronym, the point is still generally the same.)
Specific: no more vague goals!
Measurable: find some way to measure or track your goal in order to see if you are making progress
Attainable: Dreaming big is great, but making big goals lead to disappointment. Make sure your goal can be obtained.
Relevant/Realistic: Similar to above, your goals need to be probable and within ones control.
Time-Bound: the goal needs an end time, you can't just leave it open.
A wonderful book that makes a lot of appearances on my instagram "Grow Your Handmade Business" by Kari Chapin (if you run or want to run your own business I highly recommend this book) has a chapter on Intentions and Goals which I will share with you.
It's literally part of my job as a counselor to be good at making goals (of course the client and I work together), but I still need help myself. Which is why I decided I am going to do a monthly blog with my goals for the month. I think this will help me in a lot of ways. Writing down your goals is said to help you achieve them and taking the time to think about my goals every month is something I need to do. I also hope that this will help some of you who struggle with setting and achieving goals. We're in this together!
Intention: I will become more organized in order to make my life less stressful.
Goal: I will plan my meals for the week every sunday night and grocery shop for all the ingredients
Goal: I will plan out my weekly schedule, including time to make orders, internship, time to do business planning, yoga etc.
Intention: I will do more things for me
Goal: I will go to yoga five times a week
Goal: I will ride my bike (to the post office) three times a week to get away and relieve stress
Goal: I will schedule time in my week to relax and do whatever I want
Goal: I will journal before bed every night.
Intention: Get a business loan
Goal: Get all my paperwork together
Goal: Make a business plan using Kari's book
Goal: Plan a day to go to the bank with Jeff
Intention: Get my items in local stores
Goal: Find at least 1 store that will sell my items
Task: Research how to go about this
Task: Go downtown with some cards and samples and ask stores (old school way?)
Now this might be WAY too many goals for one month, but its my first month doing this and I am still learning too. Feedback is appreciated!
Now its your turn! Comment below with your monthly/yearly goals!
